TSMC Selects ASDevices’ High-Performance Trace Gas Chromatograph for Two New 12” Wafer Fabs
ASDevices has been selected to supply dozens of gas chromatographs to TSMC for their new advanced 12” wafer fab, with more major projects expected to follow. These instruments will be used for Continuous Quality Control (CQC) and Incoming Quality Control (IQC), marking a significant outcome of ASDevices’ recent product qualification.
“For ASDevices, being recognized by a company like TSMC is an exceptional reward for our team and partners. This approval highlights the quality and performance of our products,” said Andre Lamontagne, President of ASDevices. “Our team has worked tirelessly to develop cutting-edge technologies and demonstrate their value to our customers. The market recognizes that our patented Enhanced Plasma Discharge (EPD) sensing technology, paired with our innovative, leak-free patented PLSV valve, greatly enhances performance and reliability. Our groundbreaking GC platform, featuring unique capabilities such as asynchronous chromatography, allows us to deliver gas chromatography applications that are unmatched by competitors. Our fast trace argon in N2 analysis, for example, is a significant achievement. We are excited to be qualified with all key players in this field and look forward to 2025, as we prepare to deliver many instruments to TSMC for their upcoming projects.”
ASDevices continues to advance its strategy to provide all key measurements for CQC in the semiconductor industry. The company is investing heavily in R&D to expand its portfolio of trace-sensing technologies. “We are actively developing a new technology for ultra-trace O2 and H2O measurement, which will be a technological breakthrough that enhances our market offerings,” said Frank Zhu, Global VP of Sales. “This product is scheduled for release in early 2025 and is a critical part of our strategy to deliver a complete CQC measurement suite by the end of 2025.”
ASDevices is now riding a wave of rapid growth thanks to its industry-leading technologies, which are used not only in the hydrogen market, but also in the skyrocketing semiconductor market. The company has become an industry authority and is now a partner of choice for some of the world’s most renowned metrology institutes, from Shanghai to the UK.
ASDevices is another success story for CEO Yves Gamache, a well-known innovator and entrepreneur. With over 180 patents to his credit, Mr. Gamache has been revolutionizing the highly specialized field of gas analysis for over three decades, propelling ASDevices to new heights and providing Canada with added visibility and capability in this field. Canada is known as an R&D powerhouse, and ASDevices is another great example of that innovative spirit.
